Naval Installation Manager (227jc) – Basingstoke – up to £45k + Generous Package
My client, who are a provider of rapidly deployable protection and surveillance solutions to over 20 nations around the globe are now seeking to recruit a Naval Installation Manager to join their expanding team.

In this role, you will be reporting to the Head of Business Services, and your role will be to manage the installation and de-fitting of communications equipment and infrastructure into RN and RFA vessels on time and to quality, liaising at the same time with the MoD and shipyard authorities to the satisfaction of a MoD.
Therefore, your responsibilities will include: -
• Manage your team to provide installation, logistic and administrative support to the MoD Customer
• Liaise with Head of Business Services regarding raising contract tasks when required to enable forward planning (purchasing, financial and installation) of future installations as determined by the MoD Navy.
• Attend surveys and meetings to ensure that programme, technical and interface requirements are fully understood and implemented.
• Liaise closely with MoD IPTs and shipyard authorities to ensure timely completion of installation work in line with ship availability and conflicting emergent work.
• Ensure that you and the team have adequate passes and clearance to carry out the program of works.
• Negotiate and manage sub-contract tasks for Naval installation work.
• Manage the equipment needed for project, ensuring controlled movement and storage of assets.
• Act as a member of installation team for: tasks with foreshortened timescales and during periods of multi- installation requirements, in short rolling, up your own sleeves as required.
• Liaise with MoD Agencies regarding ship and equipment availability, developing installation plans which include your team, sub-contractors, and MoD agencies.
• Maintain awareness of ISO9001 standards and operating procedures
• Ensure thar you and your team comply with all HSE at all times.
To be eligible for this role, you will need the following:
• Experience in the supervisory management of engineering issues in a fast-paced environment.
• Possess an understanding of MoD (Royal Navy) engineering standards and ship engineering procedures.
• Be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project applications.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Able to travel in the UK and overseas. Passport required – at least 6 months validity at all times.
Another key requirement for this role, is that you will need to hold or be able to hold DV clearance.
The ideal candidate would be someone from the Royal Navy who understands ships layout and ducting systems as the equipment needs to be fitted into ships, and understanding the current layout of current and potentially older vessels that are in service would be a distinct advantage, so someone who comes from a Comms/IT installations/engineer background would be ideal and probably at CPO/WO rank.
In return they are offing a good starting salary, and your standard working week is 37.5 hr, and you will be working a 9-day shift rota which means that you will be working ½ day on Friday one week, and then have Friday off the following week. Also you will have 27 days leave, rising to 29 years after completing 5 years’ service, company pension, cycle to work scheme, free parking and rural location.
The bulk of the role will be based in their site in Basingstoke, however there travel involved, as you will be working in locations such as Portsmouth, Devonport and Lossiemouth in the main, however other locations will also be involved, as well as potentially overseas, and when working away from the HQ, all expenses will be paid, and when overseas extra allowance will also kick in.
