Salary Range: £28,050 – £33,176

Hours: Full time or Part Time

An exciting and exceptional opportunity has arisen for a full-time Occupational Therapist Driving Advisor to join a well known mobility centre in Southampton.

You will be working  predominantly  Southampton Centre, however travel to outreach locations in Ferndown, Basingstoke, Newbury, Salisbury and the Isle of Wight will also be necessary on a regular basis.  No previous experience of driving assessments is necessary.

A full driving licence is required and a mandatory post-graduate certificate in Driving Assessment and Outdoor Mobility will need to be undertaken within 3 years of taking up the position.

The position is within NHS band 6 and the role will comprise of:

·                  Enabling people to remain independent on the road by using problem-solving skills to assess for appropriate adaptations

·                  to overcome physical disabilities

·                  Working alongside driving professionals to maintain road safety by carrying out specialist in-car cognitive assessments

·                  Using clinical reasoning and evaluating skills to assimilate findings, make recommendations and produce written reports

·                  Working as part of a very supportive small team managing intensive client intervention

·                  Applicants should be keen learners, flexible thinkers and compassionate. They should have at least 2 years post-graduate clinical experience, preferably with some neurological knowledge.

Full-time hours of work will be 37.5 per week Monday to Friday and a flexi time system is in place.  A generous annual leave allowance will be provided along with a pension scheme.
