Helicopter Component Overhaul Technician (195jc) – Thruxton Airport, Andover – up to £38k depending on experience.
My client, who have been established for over 30 years and are a growing engineering company focused on the helicopter market are now seeking to recruit an additional Helicopter Component Overhaul Technicians to join their team to join their expanding team.
DUE TO THE NATURE OF THIS RECRUITMENT CONSULTANCY, WE ARE ONLY ABLE TO REPRESENT INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE EX MILITARY.
They are seeking a hands-on engineer to join their small but dedicated team to inspect, repair and overhaul all dynamic components within the aircraft. They have signed a major agreement with one of the major helicopter manufacturers to be fully responsible for a couple of legacy airframes for EMEA which has increase their workload.
Therefore, your duties and responsibilities will include:
• Bench assembles, and installs major mechanical components and systems on aircraft
• Performs functional test of mechanical components and systems on aircraft
• Corrects discrepancies using information from engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, or other documents as required
• Uses manufacturing planning, written instructions, schematics, blueprints and other applicable technical data to assemble, install or replace aircraft components
• Uses manufacturing shop stamp or test stamp to sign off completed work to include manufacturing planning, test procedures, inspection discrepancy records, product assurance records and applicable program documentation
• Maintain a clean, safe and healthy work area
To be eligible for this role you will need the following skills and abilities:
• Aviation mechanical experience either fixed wing or rotorcraft would be highly desirable.
• Must have the ability to read and interpret blue prints, engineering drawing and technical publications.
• Ability to use and maintain various pieces of ground support and test equipment as required.
• The ability to understand and follow instructions and the ability to concentrate is required.
• Excellent written, verbal, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of NDT would also be highly advantageous
• Ability to attend training courses away from base for up to 2 – 3 weeks at a time
The ideal candidate would be someone who has a strong engineering background from the forces, aviation is preferred, however, any mechanical engineering would be considered, as the company will need to invest in you to bring you up to become a Helicopter Inspector level within a very short space of time.
In return, they are offering an excellent starting salary, as well as ongoing training, support and development which will increase your earning potential going forward and your working hours will be Monday – Thursday (8.00am – 4.00pm), Friday (8.00am – 3.30pm).
