Occupational Therapist
A fantastic new job opportunity has arisen for a committed Occupational Therapist to work in an amazing hospital service based in the Atherton, Manchester area. As an Occupational Therapist you will be working for one of UK's leading health care providers.
This service offers a range of care settings for male patients with personality disorder and/or mental illness. The purpose-built medium, low secure and rehabilitation wards, as well as a psychiatric intensive care unit (PICU) are all set within an 11-acre site with extensive woodland and landscaped areas.
As a Occupational Therapist your day to day duties include:
· Plan and implement individual and group interventions collaboratively with patient/s.
· Maintain accurate patient records, including care notes, written reports and discharge summaries following hospital and professional standards.
· Establish effective communication with patients, staff and other agencies
· Actively implement evidence-based practice
· Actively ensuring regular clinical and managerial supervision
· To fulfill a variety of duties and responsibilities associated with maintaining a caseload, with initial support from your supervisor and team, meeting the standards set in the Occupational Therapy department care-pathway while adhering to HPC regulations
· Complete full assessments, plan, implement intervention and evaluate outcomes as per department care-pathway, enabling the patient in areas of self-maintenance, productivity, and leisure.
An ideal Occupational Therapist must have these skills as they are beneficial for this position:
· Have good computer skills i.e. word-processing.
· Is current with Occupational Therapy related information
· Experience in working with Forensic patients
· Preferably a member of the British Association of Occupational Therapy, and, if not, about to become a member
· Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in written and spoken word
· Some understanding of various other O.T
· Ability to build links with external agencies
· Ability to build good working relationships with staff and clients
· Ability to relate effectively with other disciplines
· Registered with the Health Professional Council if post-graduation
The successful Occupational Therapist will receive an excellent annual salary of £25,000 - £26,000 pro rata. This exciting position is a Full Time role working 37.5 hours a week. In return for your hard work and commitment you will receive the following generous benefits:
