Safety & Quality is paramount.
The hiring need is for a Quality Engineer, who will be responsible for ensuring Quality improvements are driven, tracked, and communicated within the company.
Main duties:
- Liaise with the customer for all quality concerns, warranty claims and PPAP submissions for product/ process changes.
- Lead problem solving investigations and 8D submissions to customer
- Define containment activities for internal/external concerns and ensure they are completed effectively.
- Identify opportunities for improving product /process Quality.
- Prepare and update control plans
- Participate on PFMEA reviews and updates as required
- Conduct Product, Process and QMS audits
- Analyse warranty data and lead root cause /improvement action with the relevant departments
- Analysis of returned parts from field
- Prepare documentation for product/process changes
- Participate in continuous improvement projects to improve departmental performance on safety, uptime, availability, maintenance, equipment modifications, plant, error proofing, technical systems and processes and cost down opportunities.
- Taking fast action to reduce customer demerits and cost of quality.
- Use consumables responsibly
- Participate in training and development programmes and share knowledge with the wider teams & identify areas of development and training requirements.
- Comply with - Health & Safety and Environmental Policies, General Risk Assessments, Manual Handling Risk Assessments, COSHH Risk Assessments, Safe System of Work documents
- Report accidents and near misses.
- Take appropriate actions in emergency situations.
- Raise quality care points.
- Liaise with other departments regarding quality concerns.
- Adhere to standardised working procedures.
- Participate in quality checks and controls.
- Report repeat quality issues.
- Ensure all quality decisions are made considering risk to supply and escalate as required.
Knowledge, skills and experience:
- Good analytical skills.
- Candidates must be able to work using their own initiative, and be able to liaise with other functions and departments at all levels within the company.
- Manual dexterity.
- Literacy and numeracy.
- Ability to identify different colours of products (i.e. Ishihara).
- Strong problem-solving experience.
- Must be able to communicate effectively at all levels.
- Strong attention span with a good eye for detail.
- Good negotiation Skills
- Analytical
- 3- 5 years quality engineering experience
- Good knowledge of quality improvement tools
- Computer literate in word, excel, PowerPoint
