Unit Manager
An amazing job opportunity has arisen for a committed Unit Manager to join an excellent care home based in Belfast. As a Unit Manager you will be working for one of UK's leading health care providers.
The special care team offers nursing care for people who have complex medical needs, as well as nursing dementia care provided by specialist teams trained in the complexities of looking after those living with dementia, who may also have other long-term medical conditions. They also provide residential care for those that need help with day-to-day life.
As the Unit Manager your day to day duties include:
· To promote, monitor and implement standards for patient care within the ward/unit environment, evaluating through clinical governance and audit.
· Provide clinical leadership, positive role modelling to the ward team, ensuring effective communication across the multidisciplinary team, through supervision, mentoring and appraisal.
· Ensure all CPA and risk assessment and HONOS is an integral part of the patients care and that it is monitored and updated on a regular basis.
· Develop and lead regular patient feedback mechanisms e.g. satisfaction surveys, outcome studies, community meetings.
· Ensure all staff and patient census data is completed efficiently and on time, and that patient data is recorded accurately on Medtrak, or similar database.
An ideal Unit Manager must have these skills as they are beneficial for this position:
· People management experience; the ability to lead and manage a team
· Numerate and literate with the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
· Understands and effectively uses IT and communication systems required for the role
· Able to analyse problems and propose solutions
· Sensitive to and respectful of the values, views and needs of others
· Able to effectively prioritise workload
· Develop internal and external business relationships based on mutual respect and professionalism
· Ability to work under pressure whilst motivating their team
· Encourages knowledge sharing and best practice
· Experience of delivering nursing care within elderly health care sector
· Experience of participating in quality and clinical governance programmes, including audit and care services
· Leadership Management qualifications
The successful Unit Manager will receive an excellent salary of £17.50 - £22.50 per hour. This exciting position is for 39 hours a week. In return for your hard work and commitment you will receive the following generous benefits:
