MIU Nurse/Paramedic Practitioner
A fantastic new job opportunity has arisen for a dedicated MIU Nurse/Paramedic Practitioner to work in the Minor Injuries Unit of an exceptional hospital based in Bristol. You will be working for one of UK’s leading health care providers
This unit delivers care and treatment to service users of all ages. A small committed team striving to transform and improve Minor Injuries and Illness Services to our community
**To be considered for this position you must current active NMC Pin or HCPC registration**
Your key responsibilities include:
· Undertake accurate assessment and management of patients of all ages, in accordance with local and national guidelines. This will include patients presenting with minor illness and minor injury in both adult and paediatric patients
· Undertake assessment and management of patients in a timely manner, actively contributing to the effective delivery of the service based on demand
· Perform a variety of diagnostic tests as requested or deemed necessary during assessment. This includes requesting and interpretation of X Rays
· Prioritise cases and intervene appropriately in urgent or emergency situations, including initiation of effective emergency care
· Maintain accurate and contemporaneous records using relevant systems
· To refer and liaise with other services as required, and provide patients and carers with accurate information and advice on a range of health issues
The following skills and experience would be preferred and beneficial for the role:
· Previous experience in Minor Injuries/Illness
· 3 years’ experience of working within an emergency environment or MIU
· Clinical examination skills
· Excellent communication skills
· Displays self confidence and self awareness, especially when dealing with staff and patients
