Senior Infrastructure Engineer (DV Cleared) (203dm) – Cheltenham - £50k - £65k + Bonus + Benefits

Our client, who is a leading provider of innovative research, services and solutions to Her Majesty’s Government is now seeking to recruit a DV Cleared Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join their expanding company.

They are global leaders in Internet facing systems and the innovative application of machine intelligence to the complex problems facing their customers in defence and national security.
They look for people with a passionate interest in technology for new service desk roles within an expanding team of IT specialists supporting their military customers.

Who Will Succeed in This Role?
You will have experience configuring and managing the core applications that drive business productivity and you will also have a significant amount of experience building and configuring the hardware and virtualised environments in which these applications are hosted. You will have experience working in a team of engineers to successfully deliver solutions for both commercial and public sector organisations.

•Have an excellent understanding of the technology industry, including current and emerging digital strategies, solutions and trends.
•An excellent understanding of solutions from leading vendors including Microsoft, VMware, Citrix and Cisco, and experience deploying these technologies for large enterprise and public sector customers.
•Possess situational awareness to adapt and solve challenges from both business and technology perspectives.
•Display an ability to balance strategic thinking with pragmatic operational execution and delivery, including strong client facing and team collaboration skills.
•Show empathy, curiosity, and a desire to challenge and constantly improve, acquire new skills and drive for results.

What Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience Are Required?
•Industry certifications which validate your experience and knowledge are important for this role, certifications that will be beneficial to hold for this role:
•Microsoft certifications such as MCSA, MCSE or new role-based certifications covering Azure, O365 and Teams are beneficial.
•VMware data centre virtualisation certifications such as VCTA, VCP and VCAP.
•Citrix certification including CCA-V and CCP-V
•Extensive experience with Microsoft server, client, and cloud platforms including Active Directory (on-premises and Azure), Office 365, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Teams, Office client, SCCM/InTune, Group Policy.
•An excellent understanding of Microsoft collaboration platforms including Skype for Business and Teams.
•Administration of the Microsoft 365 platforms, including Azure AD, Exchange, SharePoint Online, OneDrive and Teams.
•Significant experience configuring general server infrastructure and virtualisation platforms including solutions built on either VMware ESX or Microsoft Hyper-V.
•Experience deploying Hyperconverged technologies such as Cisco Hyperflex alongside practical knowledge of Cisco UCS would be extremely advantageous.
•Experience configuring and deploying VDI environments including Citrix VAD and VMware Horizon.
•Ideally possesses an excellent understanding of networking concepts and technologies including IP, DNS, DHCP, ACL's etc. and some experience with Cisco's network and security solutions.
