An incredibly exciting & unique opportunity for a service leaver/veteran or ex-military individual who’s gained some commercial experience, to join an agile, successful & established start-up company who deliver innovative solutions to the Aviation industry. Specialising in Air Intelligence & Security; Counter Drone Technology.

DUE TO THE NATURE OF THIS RECRUITMENT CONSULTANCY, WE ARE ONLY ABLE TO REPRESENT INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE EX MILITARY.

Can either be based fully remotely OR hybrid working remote/office near Chichester. Whichever the successful candidate’s preference.

This dynamic, talented & entrepreneurial team have created an in-house end to end “Airspace Intelligence system”, a unique range of products that can stand-alone or integrate into incumbent systems to deliver a technology-based solution for the ever-increasing security requirements of drone/UAV activity within restricted areas, alongside a wider Aviation heritage, eg. modifying existing large aircraft.

Our client’s suite of sensors and sensor fusion systems can enable airspace operations by increasing detection confidence and offering a more accurate air picture in real-time. Whilst being designed & assembled in the UK, it gives our client a very wide platform to offer.

The Opportunity
After having secured & won some major bids; £multi-million business wins (with more pipeline to follow) our client is now seeking a new Sales Manager to help them with the best means to approach partners in the UK as well as overseas countries (knowing there is an art to it) to sell their products, possibly in partnership with UK Trade and its network of Defence Attaches and embassies worldwide.

As well as a market competitive base salary, our client will offer you an attractive benefits package in addition to uncapped commission on sales.

Job Purpose
Utilising your business contacts within the civilian and/or Defence, primarily Airspace related market, to proactively identify and quality new & existing business opportunities UK & Globally (this can include Arenas, Stadiums, Defence, Government, Prisons, etc) & help maximise revenue generation through articulating & selling the products and solution offering our client provides.

Your success will be supported by the Operations Director, Business Director, Marketing & HR team, who will help you with the bidding and closing of deals.

Key Responsibilities
• Selling of client’s products, solutions & technology, UK & Globally
• Generate leads, via new business development and following up on inbound leads.
• Develop & maintain face to face relationships with customers and will necessitate overseas travel when required (likely, a few times a month).
• Build and manage a sales pipeline (including creation and management of account plans and strategies for targeted customers)
• Conduct outbound prospecting campaigns that result in qualified opportunities with decision makers
• Understand the requirements from end users and relevant stakeholders, and be the voice of the customer within the Company
• Manage and support established business/customers to enable retention & ensure full penetration.
• Become a brand ambassador in the marketplace, participating in industry events and forums (including Overseas tradeshows).
• Engage Company resources effectively in the pursuit of business including marketing, operations, pre-sales and, where necessary for larger scale strategic opportunities, product development.
• Provide support to bids, as required (the Business Director will also help with bidding)
• Develop and maintain knowledge of the Company’s offerings.

Essential skills &experience:
• Demonstrable insight into the Airspace/Air Intelligence market and understanding of who & why customers would require Airspace solutions together with business contacts that can be leveraged.
• Experience of presentations in a customer facing role
• Proven ability to demonstrate solution value/value-add to key prospects at a Senior level, combined with the knowledge and aptitude to present and explain the technical elements of product or services.
• Ability to co-ordinate the end-to end activities from pre-sales through to post sales to ensure excellent levels of engagement and service throughout the process.
• An entrepreneurial & value-add mindset (with strong drive & ambition to take on full ownership)
• Initiative, resilience, adaptability & a positive “can do” attitude
• Articulate communicator with strong interpersonal skills
• Excellent written communication skills

Desired Skills/Qualities
• Experience in Export Support
• Excellent understanding in the inner workings of Defence
• Good level of Technology acumen (interest and/or experience with Drones)
• Global experience (including US)
