We currently have a fantastic new opportunity for a Clinical Psychologist to join one of the leading providers of healthcare services. We are proud to announce that as a Psychologist you will be working for a company which prides itself in providing the highest standards of care to all patients within their care.

Salary:

 Starting from £31,000 + (Band 7)

Role Summary: 

·         To ensure the provision of a high quality Clinical Psychology service to Hospital and other associated services in line with organisational values and clinical strategy.  .

 Main Responsibilities:

·         To undertake specialist psychological assessments and interventions with clients within the service.

·         To work collaboratively with colleagues in the multidisciplinary team to meet the needs of the clients.

·         To work autonomously within professional guidelines and exercise professional responsibility for the work undertaken. 

·         To supervise clinical professionals providing psychologically based care/ input to clients   

·         To contribute, where required, specialised psychological skills and advise to the design and implementation of service developments, procedures, staff training and support.

 Key Result Areas:

·         Assessment of clients using a variety of assessment measures, either in conjunction with other staff or individually.

·         To use and interpret a wide range of complex data from a variety of sources e.g. self-report, neuropsychological assessment, rating scales, observations, semi-structured interviews, to formulate an understanding of a client and their current difficulties. 

·         The provision of direct psychological interventions with clients on an individual, family or group basis.

·         For these interventions to be informed by theoretical and therapeutic models. 

·         Indirect work with clients through consultation with carers, other agencies/ professionals and staff.

·         Specialist interventions for complex and challenging behaviour, through consultation and training with staff.

·         To provide specialist clinical psychology expertise, knowledge and advice on staff support and critical incident management following critical incidents.

·         Supervision of assistant psychologists, recently qualified psychologists and other professionals undertaking psychological interventions, as appropriate.

  • To undertake risk assessments of clients and formulate treatment plans with due regard to these.
  • To prepare reports for statutory and non-statutory meetings as required.
  • Actively contribute to the CPA process and attend review meetings as required.
  • To utilise research skills and knowledge for audit, policy and service development.
  • To maintain high standards of clinical record keeping including multi-disciplinary notes and report writing. 
  • Teaching and training of other staff members as required.
  • To exercise responsibility for managing psychological resources (e.g. psychological assessment materials).   
  • To ensure the development, maintenance and dissemination of the highest professional standards of practice through participation in CPD training and programmes. 
  • To maintain up to date knowledge of legislation national and local policies and issues in relation to the specific patient group and mental health. 
  • To contribute to the profession of Psychology through training and research.
