Occupational Therapist
An exciting new job opportunity has arisen for a committed Occupational Therapist to work in an exceptional mental health service based in the Diss, Norfolk area. You will be working for one of UK's leading health care providers
This service provides low secure care and specialised treatment for adults aged 18 years and older with a learning disability. Patients may also have other associated conditions including personality disorders, mental illnesses and autistic spectrum disorders (ASDs)
**To be considered for this position you must be a registered OT with a HCPC Registration**As the Occupational Therapist your key responsibilities include:
· Ensure an efficient referral system to the occupational therapy/LEVOS is maintained
· Hold a complex clinical case load and actively engage in the care pathway for a specific patient group
· Ensure that a comprehensive occupational therapy service to patients within the service, using agreed assessment tools and techniques where appropriate
· Support the OT/LEVOS team with relevant care planning issues, contributing to risk management and devising treatment plans, supporting the CPA process
· Implement evidence based interventions according to individual patient’s needs and ensuring the patient’s involvement in all aspects of the occupational therapy process
· Deliver and co-ordinate effective therapeutic programmes for qualified occupational therapists, occupational therapy assistants and basic skills teachers and where appropriate co-run groups with other members of the disciplinary team
The following skills and experience would be preferred and beneficial for the role:
· Experience of supervising staff - desirable
· Strong ability to reflect on practice and use supervision effectively - essential
· Experience within mental health, learning disabilities, secure or forensic settings
· A strong interest in working within the field of secure forensic learning disabilities
· Excellent organisational and communication skills
· The ability to work within a Multidisciplinary Team
· Previous sensory experience desirable but not essential
The successful Occupational Therapist will receive an excellent salary of £38,000 per annum. This exciting position is a Full Time role for 37.5 hours a week working through Day Shifts. In return for your hard work and commitment you will receive the following generous benefits:
