My client provides healthcare and risk management solutions across the globe to organisations who want to have control over their personnels health, travel and risk provision and they are now seeking a Registered Nurse to join their expanding team.

They are currently seeking experienced nurses to join their team in a dynamic, diverse and fulfilling role. This presents an exceptional chance for nurses to transition from the rigors of a clinical setting to a UK office-based position, all while continuing to apply their invaluable nursing expertise. This is a role where no two days are the same. The role offers the opportunity to undertake flight nursing.
Position Overview
Working as part of the Medical Assistance team, the role includes:
• The provision of a Monday-Sunday nursing service providing an efficient, cost effective and clinically appropriate service to clients.
• Management of all new and ongoing emergency medical assistance, claims, and repatriation cases working with co-ordinators and the wider organisation using problem solving expertise
• Provision of non-diagnostic medical advice directly to policyholders and Medical Helpline clients
• Providing clinical input to the OH team in the medical assessment of individuals pre-deployment utilising knowledge to reduce risk to those overseas
• Be a point of escalation to use your expert nursing knowledge for any patient, client, team member or overseas clinician providing the direct care
• Provision of emergency airline employee health services
• Checking equipment on return from repatriations and air ambulances and ensuring sufficient supplies are available to manage the repatriation workload.
You will have a number of key relationships with doctors, repatriation coordinators, other nurses, the team based out in New Zealand, Security Services team; airline employee health teams; overseas medical teams; airline medical clearance departments; suppliers as well as other departments within the group and of course the most important people the Clients
This is a full-time, hybrid position. There are three 12-hour shifts between 8am and 10pm, Monday to Sunday shifts, including bank holidays. They are a 24/7 Global Health operations team so occasionally some additional flexibility is required (the nights are covered by the New Zealand team).
To be eligible for this role you will need to have the following:
• Registered General Nurse, with a current NMC pin.
• Ideally 4 years recent acute care nursing experience, including several years’ experience within a critical care area or similar (e.g. ICU/A&E/HDU/CCU/acute surgical nursing).
• Prior experience in clinical case management is advantageous.
• Exceptional telephone etiquette and technical proficiency, including proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and databases.
• Some elements of the role would suit nurses with a broader nursing background so veterans are highly valued
• Demonstrate adeptness in identifying critical medical issues and promptly escalating them for appropriate case management.
• Excel under pressure within a fast-paced environment, displaying adaptability and empathy.
• Communicate effectively in written and spoken English, exhibiting strong communication skills.
• Proficiency in additional language(s) is advantageous.
• Enjoy working in a collaborative team in a professional business environment, making clear plans both short and long term for patients
Essential criteria
• Hold a current NMC Pin and have been working at (band 5 or above) with a minimum of 3 years recent clinical experience.
• We require basic IT skills along with excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work within a team environment as well as directly with clients
• Be able to work independently in order to plan and manage their caseload.
The ideal candidate would be someone who has hands on clinical experience as a nurse in a medical setting, and who has operational overseas experience and who is seeking to move into a more consultant type role and who wants to get away from working nights, as these roles are day time roles only.
In return they are offering a good salary circa £40 – 42k with an excellent benefits package which includes 5 weeks annual leave, plus birthday off, 4.5% contributory pension scheme, Private Medical Scheme, Employee Assistance programme, Local discounts and office facilities such as shower facilities, CPD support, Maintain NMC Pin as well as other benefits. There is also possibility of overtime and getting involved with repatriation flights which may be able to significantly increase your income. There may also be the opportunity to work remotely, however, this may take place after full training and may take up to a year before this can be offered.
They have also an additional role for their Government nursing contracts, where you will be supporting patients who are based overseas with their general day to day medical needs, and this role has 4 x 9 hr shifts. Therefore, think of this role as a Med Cen Nurse and you will be dealing with slightly less acute issues, but is still an important role.
