Charge Nurse
An amazing opportunity as arisen for a motivated Charge Nurse to work with one of UK's leading healthcare providers. As a Charge Nurse you will be working in the Essex area.
This hospital provides low secure service for males who are over the age of 50. The aim is to help patients rebuild confidence, self-esteem and hopes for the future. They keep patients involved with the community, their family, and carers whenever possible.
As a Charge Nurse your day to day duties include:
· To take an active role in management of the ward under the supervision of the Ward Manager, and to take charge in her absence. Participate fully with the clinical team and undertake direct patient care
· Contribute to the development of others within the team through supervision, mentoring (including student nurses) and positive role modelling
· Support the Ward Manager in resource management for the ward
· Promote and maintain a professional working environment, ensuring a high standard of care at all times, assisting with evaluation through clinical governance and audit
· Ensure effective communication between medical and nursing staff both verbal and written
· Ensure all CPA and risk assessment and HONOS is an integral part of the patients care and that it is monitored and updated on a regular basis
· In liaison with the Ward Manager, identify training needs for staff
· Delegated responsibility for the care, security and maintenance of equipment, drugs and other consumables on the ward/department
· Shared responsibility for the confidentiality, security and accuracy of patient records, data and information
An ideal Charge Nurse should be a hardworking, confident individual and must have these skills as they are beneficial for this position:
· Experience in a supervisory role
· The ability to assess and teach junior staff
· A proven ability to co-ordinate care, prioritise tasks and manage Health & Safety issues
· The drive to learn and develop
· A commitment to patient-centred care and to values-based and evidence-based practice
· A flexible, positive, team-orientated approach
· Mentorship Qualification (preferred)
· The ability to lead and motivate others. Must be flexible, enthusiastic, self-motivated and have the ability to supervise clinical teams
The successful Charge Nurse will receive an excellent salary of £31,000. This exciting position is for 37.5 hours a week. In return for your hard work and commitment you will receive the following generous benefits:
