Logistics Coordinator (107jc) – Fareham – up to £35k + Benefits
We have been approached by a specialist Maritime civil engineering company to assist them in finding a key member of their team, as they are experiencing a period of significant growth this has highlighted the need for this role.
DUE TO THE NATURE OF THIS RECRUITMENT CONSULTANCY, WE ARE ONLY ABLE TO REPRESENT INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE EX MILITARY.
You will be reporting to the Construction Manager and Directors and your role will be to facilitate the seamless functioning of their logistical operations across the UK and globe.
As a Logistics Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient coordination of the logistics activities. Your responsibilities will include managing plant and equipment, coordinating transportation, and liaising with suppliers and project managers. This is a key requirement as some of the equipment needs to be serviced and maintained to a high degree, i.e. diving equipment, so knowledge of the rules and regulations is desirable.
You will possess excellent interpersonal skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to adapt to the evolving needs of the family run business.
Location: Fareham, Hampshire (Operating UK Wide)
Therefore, your key responsibilities will include:
• Coordinate and optimise the management of plant and equipment for timely material/equipment delivery to project sites.
• Manage inventory levels and maintain accurate records for maintenance and certification, especially important for the diving equipment.
• Liaise with suppliers/vendors to procure equipment and negotiate favourable terms.
• Collaborate with project managers to anticipate logistical needs and address potential issues, i.e. forward planning.
• Communicate effectively with internal teams on delivery schedules.
• Maintain a safe and organised warehouse and yard environment adhering to regulations.
• Assist in diagnosing and resolving mechanical issues with plant and equipment would also be a useful skill.
To be eligible for this role, you will need:
• Prior logistics coordination or related experience
• Strong organisational and task prioritisation abilities
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• High attention to detail and accurate record-keeping
• Adaptability to changing priorities and ability to work well under pressure
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and logistics software (e.g. SAP, Oracle)
• Experience diagnosing/fixing mechanical plant (preferred)
