Our client work closely with Government and Defence clients and are looking for a DV cleared Project Support Officer looking to grow their career in their fast paced and growing IT consultancy company. Our client offers autonomy, recognition, and good career progression. Progression into another role in the company could be an option as they are looking to grow even further in 2024.

Due to their ongoing expansion, our client is looking for a driven and motivated DV cleared Project Support Officer with experience of working with MoD and government. They offer a forward-thinking environment with high-tech facilities, equipment, and solutions.

This is a key role in which you will enjoy a strong degree of autonomy. Whilst the head office is based in Gloucester, this role allows a hybrid working routine, being client and partner focused. This role will suit individuals with current defence sector experience, who have proven capability in planning for complex projects. You will also spend time onsite in Cheltenham.

About the role:
The Project Support Officer will play a crucial role in streamlining processes, helping grow the department, and ensuring the successful completion of projects. Reporting on progress, resources, finance and costings. Supporting projects, mitigating risks and solving issues. Scheduling meetings and setting agendas for the project team.

You will be expected to manage your own demands and priorities. You will have specialised knowledge and experience within MoD and government sectors. Other responsibilities include:
• Create and maintain essential project documentation, project plans and status reports
• Identify project deliverables, milestones, and activities while outlining project phases and acceptance criteria
• Effectively document and manage risks, issues, and changes that may arise during the project
• Collaborate with project stakeholders and team members to achieve project objectives
• Effective communication and supplier management

Responsibilities:
• The successful candidate will be used to creating detailed project plans and schedules to ensure all project activities are accounted for. They will be capable of establishing clear project objectives, milestones to measure progress and making informed decisions promptly to resolve project-related issues.
• Proven relevant experience of at least 3 years in a similar project, programme or delivery role within a Defence/Government environment
• Stakeholder management, self-motivated, with strong verbal, written, and presentation skills
• Awareness of project control and practical knowledge of project delivery
• Deliver assigned tasks in with requirements, operational constraints, time, cost and quality
• Coordinate the allocation of project resources to ensure the project team has the necessary tools, equipment, and support to meet project milestones
• Strong problem-solving skills to quickly identify issues, analyse root causes, and devise practical solutions and strategies to keep the project on track
• Support the planning of the task/project
