Pay: £85,000.00-£95,000.00 per year

As an Innovation Consultant, you will be responsible for providing services to our clients by understanding their needs, and presenting product options to them. Innovation minded team player that enjoys working with cutting edge technology and brands. You will work closely with our clients in running innovation projects, workshops and spotting new ideas and technology in R&D and product development projects. Working with the inventors, engineers and scientists, you will support them in finding the best ways of protecting the ideas, concepts and Intellectual Property (IP) generated. Innovation minded team player that enjoys working with cutting edge technology and brands. Previous experience in consulting essential. There is no set job description for this exciting Innovation Consultant position – the role will fit around you, your background and inspirations; with a key focus on communicating well at all levels and having excellent collaboration skills. You will be well educated, with a passion for solving unique problems. You will benefit from a Corporate or Consulting background and must be willing and able to travel as required for sales trips, conferences and project presentations. 

What you will be doing: 

• Client management and building relationships 

• Innovation and ideation projects 

• Client management and building relationships 

• Handling new enquiries and managing a portfolio of clients. 

• Managing budgets, client communications and resources. 

• Attending events and being proactive in business development activities. 

• Providing training to both clients and other team members on IP awareness. 

• Developing Intellectual Property (IP) strategies and reviewing client portfolios to improve their protection. • Instructing internal teams according to set IP strategy. 

• Being responsible for quality, profit and project planning and delivery. 

• Being responsible for monitoring the execution of IP strategy. 

What we are looking for: 

• 4+ years of experience in working in innovation and R&D. 

• Self-starter and a team player. 

• Domain knowledge engineering, life science or software. 

• Great client management and project organisation skills. 

• Keen to build their own network and perform business development activities. 

• Must be proactive and business savvy. 

• Passionate about innovation, business, startups. 

• Able to translate legalese into a plain business language
