We are currently seeking a Unit Manager for an excellent nursing home for one of the leading care companies in the UK. As an experienced Unit Manager you will manage the Unit and lead a team to ensure the delivery of excellent standards of care and you will providing the highest standards of care to all residents and treat all staff with the dignity they deserve

The care home is a 50 bed purpose built care home providing general and dementia nursing and residential needs. It is based in the Leeds and Intermediate Care Suite provides quality care 24h/day, integrating health and social care to deliver short term, person centred rehabilitation, recovery and reablement.

The successful candidate will be working a full time and will be offered a competitive salary or £17.00 per hour plus other great benefits.

Key Responsibilities

o   To assist with all people management duties, including but not exclusively; recruitment, training and career development, performance management and effective delegation of duties

o   Ensure the highest possible standards of care - continually assessing residents' needs and wishes, developing services to enhance their quality of life. 

o   Champion independence and personal choice; developing, reviewing and updating care plans to meet our clients changing physical, social and psychological needs. 

o   Ensure all elements of resident experience are positive, from admission to discharge. For example psychological considerations, safe custody of property, pain management and dignity.

o   Proactively monitor all standards of care; undertaking audits and implementing corrective action where appropriate. 

o   Promote high standards of nursing care for you and your team, actively seeking ways to improve levels of service. 

Key Skills

o   People management experience; the ability to lead and manage a team

o   Numerate and literate with the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing 

o   Able to analyse problems and propose solutions 

o   Sensitive to and respectful of the values, views and needs of others 

o   Develop internal and external business relationships based on mutual respect and professionalism

To be considered for this role you must be qualified as Nurse and must be registered with the NMC
