My client, who is one of the local schools in the area are now seeking to recruit a non-teacher to manage a key function within this 11 – 19 school.

The main purpose of this role is to ensure the school achieves a positive climate for learning where every young person can succeed, feel safe and possess a sense of belonging within our learning community.
This is a significant role within our inclusion team which involves working with
• a range of colleagues in the school
• young people from all year groups and in partnership with their parents/carers
Therefore, your specific responsibilities under the direction and supervision of the management team will be to make sure that the centre is functioning and is fit for purpose, allowing both staff and students to operate within the confines of the centre, in such a way that they all get the maximum benefits and are all working in a safe and secure manner that will enhance experiences and allow students to achieve their own maximum outcomes going forwards. You will also be involved in dealing with internal members, as well as external agencies to help safeguard the students longer term aspirations.
To be eligible for this role you will need the following education and experience:
• GCSE at grade 4+ (A* - C) in English and Mathematics or equivalent
• Evidence of further study and qualifications beyond the age of 16
• Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.
• An understanding of child protection policies and procedures in schools.
• Prior experience of working in a similar role in an educational environment is an advantage.
• Willingness and motivation to participate in any training or development required to improve skills / performance.
• Knowledge of working with young people in the context of supporting them with their learning, behaviour, and well-being.
• A commitment to working within a range of teams to support young learners.
NOTE, due to working with children and young people, you will need to be able to pass an enhanced DBS check.
The ideal candidate would be someone who is committed to improving the lives of young learners and enjoys working within a range of teams to achieve that goal, so anyone who has previous experience serving in a Junior Leaders Regiment as instruction could be ideal.
This dynamic role requires an individual who is prepared to adapt to the context of the school and, most importantly, the needs of young people. Consequently, regular reviews through line management may result in some changes in the main duties associated with this post.
In return they are offering a good starting salary, and benefits will include 13 weeks holiday, 6 weeks for summer, 2 x 2 weeks for Christmas and Easter as well as 3 x 1 week off for half terms, and an educational contribution to your pension of 17%.
