

Deputy Ward Manager
New job opening for a Deputy Ward Manager to Work in Eating Disorder Unit based in a prestigious hospital.
This is an exciting and unique opportunity for personal development and to work with a talented multidisciplinary team to further develop our Adult Eating Disorders Ward which comprises of 13 in-patient beds, plus day patients.
The successful candidate will be offered an excellent salary of up to £41,000 per annum plus supplements.
You will take an active role in managing the ward under supervision of the Ward Manager, and take charge in their absence. You will also have proven leadership skills along with a strong drive to develop yourself and the dedicated nursing team. Dealing with referrals, reporting and quality compliance aspects will all be within your remit.
You will directly participate in patient care and prior eating disorder experience is highly desirable. We will offer further eating disorder training on site as part of your induction and ongoing CPD although an awareness of this patient group would be most beneficial.
This role is a clinical position, and you will work clinical shift patterns as a visible leader. You will receive 1 shift a week as a protected supernumery day to ensure you are balancing clinical and managerial workload.
The role of the Deputy Ward Manager is to provide senior nursing leadership to the ward nursing team in support of the Ward Manager. They will have a degree of clinical experience and leadership that provides expertise and confidence to the nursing team and ward overall. They will have defined delegated responsibilities from the ward manager; have 1 day a week protected time for their deputy Ward Manager duties and have supervisory responsibilities for an agreed group of staff.
The post holder is required to have effective written, verbal and non verbal communication skills, with an ability to adapt their style as appropriate to the environment they are communicating in; they should use Email as required, but not as an alternative to more traditional forms of communication, unless clear needs exist, with staff e.g. leaving a message for a member of staff by email as they are off duty.
To be considered for this role you must be Registered Nurse and have experience in senior role.
