**To be considered for this you must be qualified as a Registered Nurse with an active NMC Pin or an ODP registered with the HCPC**
As the Lead Theatre Practitioner your key responsibilities include:
• Responsible for managing and leading the scrub team in the operating theatre for gynaecology and general surgery
• Preparing the operating room, instruments, and supplies for surgical procedures related to gynaecology and general surgery
• Setting up and maintaining a sterile field
• Assisting surgeons and anaesthetists during surgical procedures
• Monitoring and assessing the patient’s condition throughout the surgical procedure
• Anticipating the surgeon’s needs during the surgical procedure
• Supervising and mentoring junior theatre scrub nurses
• Ensuring compliance with infection control policies and procedures
• Maintaining accurate documentation of patient care
• Participating in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care
The following skills and experience would be preferred and beneficial for the role:
• A managerial certificate and at least years of senior/managerial experience
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in theatre scrub nursing, with experience in gynaecology and general surgery
• Experience in leading a team of theatre scrub nurses
• Comprehensive knowledge of surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies used in gynaecology and general surgery procedures
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure
• Ability to multitask and prioritise effectively
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of infection control policies and procedures
The successful Lead Theatre Practitioner will receive an excellent salary of £54,000 per annum. This exciting position is a permanent full time role working 37.5 hours a week. In return for your hard work and commitment you will receive the following generous benefits:
