**To be considered for this you must be qualified as a Registered Nurse with a current active NMC Pin**
As a Nurse your key responsibilities include:
• Conduct thorough pre-operative assessments, including health history reviews, physical examinations, and diagnostic test interpretations, to identify and address potential risks
• Collaborate with surgeons, anaesthetists, and other healthcare professionals to develop individualised care plans for patients
• Coordinate and arrange necessary investigations, such as laboratory tests, radiological examinations, and consultations, ensuring timely and accurate results
• Assess patients’ psychological and emotional well-being, providing support and education to alleviate anxiety and enhance their understanding of the surgical process
• Evaluate and optimise patients’ medical conditions to ensure they are fit for surgery, liaising with relevant specialists as needed
• Educate patients on pre-operative instructions, post-operative care, and recovery plans, fostering active participation in their healthcare journey
• Document all assessments, interventions, and communication in the electronic medical records system in a clear and concise manner
• Monitor and manage any pre-existing medical conditions or complications, taking appropriate actions to mitigate risks
The following skills and experience would be preferred and beneficial for the role:
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a pre-operative assessment or surgical nursing role
• Advanced knowledge of surgical procedures, anaesthesia, and perioperative nursing care
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport with patients and collaborate effectively with healthcare teams
• Ability to work independently and make sound clinical judgements
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and upholding ethical standards in patient care
• Continual professional development, including participation in relevant training and educational opportunities
The successful Nurse will receive an excellent salary of £34,865 - £39,225 per annum. This exciting position is a permanent full time role working Day Shifts on Mondays-Fridays from 9am-5pm. In return for your hard work and commitment you will receive the following generous benefits:
