Senior Paediatric Nurse

**To be considered for this position you must be qualified as a Registered Children’s Nurse with a current active NMC Pin**
As a Nurse your key responsibilities include:
• Assessment of child's health as they arrive in the out-patient environment rapid response to any immediate health or safety issues for that child and their family
• To give appropriate emotional support to children and families at diagnosis. Aiding and supporting the other health professionals during such occasions too, frequently
• To take a lead in Public Health for paediatrics innovating new approaches collaborating with the Public Health trust group
• Provide health promotion information directly to patients and within the paediatric working environment with posters, leaflets, and campaigns
• Support and teach paediatric staff in their public health role
• To maintain effective links with support services both internal and external as required
• Monitor the quality of nursing care and action audit information to achieve agreed standards and take the lead on customer care initiatives
• Takes the lead in ensuring the provision of care is in accordance with the Trust's Polices & procedures
• In conjunction with the staff team, to lead in developing implementing, evaluating and maintaining a POPD philosophy and model of care
The following skills and experience would be preferred and beneficial for the role:
• Minimum of 3 years post-registration in nursing field
• Significant post registration skills
• Excellent communicator
• Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team
• Good organisational and time management skills
• Confident decision maker
