Electrical Estimator (203jc) – Merthyr Tydfil – up to £45k based on experience
My client who are an up and coming electrical and civil engineering company established in 2012, who have a reputation which is 2nd to none, and who are now seeking to recruit an Electrical Estimator to strengthen their team.

They offer a competitive and reliable services within the electrical and civil engineering industry, and their services include cabling, containment, substation builds, trenching, cable installation, jointing, earthing and testing and commissioning services to commercial industry UK wide.
They are now seeking a skilled Electrical Estimator to join the team and you will be responsible for accurately estimating the costs associated with electrical installations, ensuring that bids are competitive while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance with industry regulations. You will also ensure that the bids process runs smoothly and meets deadlines, manage multiple projects simultaneously, monitor ongoing projects to ensure they are executed effectively, and provide support to teams as needed.
Therefore, your key responsibilities will include:
• Project Analysis: Evaluate project specifications, drawings, and other documents to understand the scope and requirements.
• Cost Estimation: Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for materials, labour, and other project expenses.
• Vendor and Subcontract Relations: collaborate with Suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotes and negotiate pricing.
• Bid Preparation: Prepare comprehensive bid proposals, ensuring alignment with client expectations.
• Documentation: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure accurate and timely project estimates.
To be eligible for this role you will need the following:
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Construction Management or related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years’ experience in electrical estimating for commercial and/or industrial projects.
• Technical skills: Proficient in using electrical estimating software and familiarity with industry standard codes.
• IT skills: Proficient in using Microsoft office and Microsoft Excel.
• Communication: Strong written communication skills with the ability to present and explain estimates to internal teams and clients.
• Detail orientated: Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in estimating costs.
The ideal candidate would be someone who has left the forces and has several years of commercial experience and who is seeking to join a company that is seeking to continue to grow and develop and become a major player in this field in the future.
