Workshop Foreman (240jc) – Newtonmore, Scottish Highlands – up to £45k + Benefits

Looking to get away from the urban hustle and bustle, my client who was established in 2001 and who have contracts across the Scottish Highlands from Wick to the Scottish Borders are now seeking a Workshop Foreman to become a key member of the team.

DUE TO THE NATURE OF THIS RECRUITMENT CONSULTANCY, WE ARE ONLY ABLE TO REPRESENT INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE EX MILITARY.

They are based in the Scottish Highlands within the Cairngorms National Park, an area of outstanding natural beauty and an ideal spot for someone who loves the great outdoors.

You will be reporting to the Owner/Managing Director, and you will be fully responsible for a team of about 2 and you will be responsible for repairing and maintaining plant machinery and company vehicles, keeping a clean and safe work environment and liaising with the office/management to update on any repairs, MOT status of vehicles, etc.

To be eligible for this role you will need significant hands-on experience as well as the following:
• City and Guilds / NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Heavy Vehicle Repair and Maintenance
• Ideally you will have completed an apprenticeship where you have gained experience working on heavy plant vehicles
• Able to demonstrate knowledge and experience as an HGV Technician/HGV Mechanic
• LGV C + E licence beneficial not essential as well as a tracked vehicle licence H would also be useful.

The ideal candidate would probably be Cpl/Sgt level who has in depth and hands on experience in working on these sorts of vehicles as this will be a hands-on role, however the vehicle fleet is modern and under warranty so any major faults and issues will be looked after by the dealerships but the ability to deal with lower-level faults and day to day issues would be ideal. You may also have to travel to sites to assist in the repairs of the equipment.

In return they are offering a good starting salary, and your working week will be between 0730 to 1730 Mon to Fri, with very little or no weekend working, 28 days of holiday per year and statutory pension scheme.

However, in addition for the right individual there may be the ability to rent a local property and significantly discounted rates, subject to negotiation
