Lead Occupational Therapist
An exciting new job opportunity has arisen for a committed Lead Occupational Therapist to work in an exceptional mental health service based in the Diss, Norfolk area. You will be working for one of UK's leading health care providers
This service provides low secure care and specialised treatment for adults aged 18 years and older with a learning disability. Patients may also have other associated conditions including personality disorders, mental illnesses and autistic spectrum disorders (ASDs)
**To be considered for this position you must hold a degree in Occupational Therapy with HCPC registration**
As the Lead Occupational Therapist your key responsibilities include:
· To be responsible for the day to day co-ordination and management of an occupational therapy/Life Skills, Education and Vocational Opportunities Service (LEVOS)
· To work closely with all the clinical teams to ensure that an occupational therapy service to patients across the site is provided
· To contribute to the maintenance of standards of excellence within occupational therapy and throughout the service through Clinical Governance
· To appraise, interpret and execute initiatives across the OT/LEVOS Service to promote clinical excellence and increase the profile of the company
· There will be the expectation to take students from the local University (UEA)
The following skills and experience would be preferred and beneficial for the role:
· Experience of supervising staff - desirable
· Strong ability to reflect on practice and use supervision effectively - essential
· Experience within mental health, learning disabilities, secure or forensic settings
· A strong interest in working within the field of secure forensic learning disabilities
· Excellent organisational and communication skills
· The ability to work within a Multidisciplinary Team
· Previous sensory experience desirable but not essential
The successful Lead Occupational Therapist will receive an excellent salary of £38,000 per annum. This exciting position is a Full Time role working 37.5 hours a week. In return for your hard work and commitment you will receive the following generous benefits:
