An incredible new job opportunity has arisen for a motivated Dermatology Consultant/Plastic Surgeon to work in an exceptional medical centre. You will be working for a company which is rated highly and has an excellent reputation in the Oldham area.

As the Plastic Surgeon Consultant, you will undertake day case surgery including flaps and extended T zone surgery consultations for patients referred to the community Dermatology service by GPs in accordance with guidance from the lead consultant and the supervising consultant. This special care centre provide consultation, advice and treatment from consultants, specialist GPs and specialist nurses for a wide range of dermatological problems (skin complaints).

Your day to day duties include:

·         Undertake Surgical p consultations including a full assessment of the condition, the patient’s concerns and expectations. The post holder will enter full details of history, examination findings, diagnosis and treatment plan in the case record.

·         Follow care pathways for the skin problems as recommend by national guidance

·         Offer only those treatments or surgical procedures, which are within the scope of the contract between Virgin Care and the CCG, taking care not to undertake procedures, which are excluded from the contract.

·         Ensure that patient or carer’s are informed fully about the condition, answer any questions, supply written information if available and involve them in decisions about the treatment

·         Dictate a letter to the patient’s GP at the time of the consultation for every patient and arrange to review the letters and amend as necessary to an appropriate timescale.

·         Undertake appropriate surgical procedures

·         Order appropriate investigations, making sure that pathology request forms are filled in legibly with full clinical details.

·         Take responsibility for seeing and taking action on all results, including writing to the GP and patient.

·         Work with other members of staff to deliver a high quality, patient-centred service including attendance at staff meetings

·         Participate in Audit and evaluation

 

An ideal Plastic Surgeon Consultant must have these skills and experiences as they are beneficial for this position:

·         Consultant

·         Relevant experience

·         Recognised Minor surgery qualification

·         At least 2 years Consultant Surgery experience in acute settings

·         Managing/performing own dermatology minor surgery clinic

·         Experience of using clinical systems such as Emis/System one

·         Computer literacy

·         Full Driving License

·         Registered with GMC

 

The successful Plastic Surgeon Consultant will receive an excellent salary up to £150,000 pro rata. This exciting position is a Part Time role, you will be working 2-5 sessions per month. In return for your hard work and dedication you will receive the following generous benefits:
