Installation and Commissioning Engineer (296jc) - Remote/ Anglian region – circa £50k + Benefits
My client is a leading provider of communications, SCADA and instrumentation solutions. Working with industrial sectors as diverse as water, power, utilities, corporate business, broadcasting and public safety organisations, they have a track record stretching back to the early 1980s and a management team with a wealth of industry experience.

Overview of role:
The Installation and Commissioning engineer will be responsible for the full life cycle delivery of the engineering solution to meet both technical compliance and quality.
You will work on your own or as part of a team delivering cutting edge communication and monitoring solutions across the UK’s largest Utility sectors.
The Candidate:
The role will be suited to a qualified electrician or Instrument technician with a strong all round technical competence, strong interpersonal skills and can demonstrate excellent initiative, analytical and problem-solving qualities.
This position will expose the candidate to many aspects of SCADA, telemetry, Instrumentation and communication technologies and therefore must demonstrate a technical aptitude and enthusiasm for the installation and support of a range of EMR solutions. Candidates must be able to demonstrate a methodical and logical approach to the installation process while working to time constraints.
Responsibilities:
The I & C Engineers responsibilities cover the following seven key areas
• Installation and commissioning of technical solutions including:
1. Survey, install, commission and support site-based control systems and equipment for key clients
2. Responsible for commissioning delivery of the assigned work package/project
3. Support project commissioning and documentation in timely fashion and deliver within agreed timeframe and quality
4. Work with both internal and external stakeholders including the client asset operations team to ensure full integration within the existing framework boundaries.
5. Work within the confines of the design including equipment design and configuration templates
• Work within the boundaries and constraints of our customers including:
1. Adherence to safety standards when working on sites delivering installation and commissioning duties
2. Compliance with quality standards and industry best practices
3. Great customer interaction, ensuring customer and PM regularly updated on progress
Essential Experience
• Minimum of three years’ experience delivering solutions in the Utility sector, specifically Water Industry would be an advantage.
• Electrical qualified to C&G, BTEC, NVQ3 or HNC/HND – (BS7671) 18th Edition is required.
• Knowledge, background of engineering – control system solutions/automation, ideally MEICA/ICA experience
• Experience/Understanding of SCADA, PLC’s, RTU’s, HMI and experience in their installation/commissioning
• Configuration/testing of manufacturers equipment and working with remote SME
• CSCS or ECS, EUSR Water hygiene
• Understanding of electrical and control panel wiring or electrical installation
• Can interpret technical documentation and provide technical updates
• Full clean driving licence
• Willingness to participate in technical and professional development
• Location – preferably Anglian region
