Project Manager, Secure Communications (164dm) – Portsmouth - Hourly: £45.36 PAYE - £60 Umbrella
Job Summary
Our client is looking for Project Managers with proven project management experience, excellent leadership and communication skills to join their Project Management Team.
DUE TO THE NATURE OF THIS RECRUITMENT CONSULTANCY, WE ARE ONLY ABLE TO REPRESENT INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE EX MILITARY.
The successful applicants will lead the delivery phase of complex military satellite communications projects and provide project initiation and planning expertise in the associated business winning campaigns.
You will be responsible for Project Initiation, Planning, Execution, Monitoring and Controlling and Closing of projects delivering complex secure communications infrastructure and services.
Skills/Experience Required
Essential:
-A degree or equivalent in project management, business management, or a relevant engineering discipline.
-Must have a good understanding of the PMI Project Management body of knowledge.
-Have a basic understanding of AGILE project management.
-At least five years’ experience of approving initial briefs/baselines, delivering projects and supporting bids in an engineering environment. Ideally, this will be the communications, aerospace, space or defence industries
- Strong experience in a similar role
Desirable:
-A good technical background to support your project management role
-STEM degree or equivalent
-PMI/PMP certification
Working Pattern:
-Monday to Friday days
-Ad hoc additional working hours when supporting a bid
Travel:
-Regular travel to other UK sites with the possibility of infrequent international travel.
Extension:
-Possible extension after initial contract duration
Base of Work:
-Following a familiarisation period on site this role will involve hybrid working 3 days per week on-site and two days per week working from home.
Candidates must be able to work on site full time when required – free parking is provided
Clearance:
The successful candidate will be required to apply for and receive a basic disclosure certificate prior to the commencement of the contract.

The cost of the application is only recoverable from the client once the contractor has started and that recovery of costs is via the expense process.
The successful candidate will be required to pass BPSS security clearance before confirmation of the contract offer.
The successful candidate will also be required to have a current SC clearance that is confirmed before start date and successfully transferred on commencement of the contract.
