Our client is well known as a centre of excellence in research and development in defence-based projects offering outstanding experimentation facilities, technical, engineering, and scientific expertise, for Land, Sea, and Air working within the Defence Sector

Our client is looking for a Team Lead – Demilitarisation to work within our Southend-On-Sea to be responsible for Operational Delivery of demilitarisation.

What do I need?

• You should have detailed knowledge of EOD disposals planning and range safety procedures.

• The Team Lead should have awareness of range planning safety tools.

• You should have working knowledge of the MOD end-user structures.

 

What will I be doing?

• The Team Lead will ensure that all Hazardous Activities within your control are conducted in accordance with legislation including MSER, the Company Hazardous Activities Management process and that they match customer expectations.

• You will ensure that all practices conducted during disposal activities have suitable and sufficient risk assessments with control measures in place.

• The Team Lead will conduct Demilitarisation Disposal tasks when required, in accordance with the relevant process instruction.

• In conjunction with the Resources Manager, The Team Lead will monitor the availability of competent staff for disposal activities, ensuring that the appropriate level of supervision is applied to all tasks.

• You will be responsible for personal and technical development of your team, ensuring that staff competencies are maintained to meet the business needs.

• The Team Lead will be in control of the Demilitarisation Budget

• In conjunction with the Site management Team, the Team Lead will ensure that a programme of inspections and evaluations for demilitarisation facilities are carried out and ensure that any findings from internal or external inspections are addressed effectively based on their level of risk.

To be eligible for this role you will need the following experience & qualifications.

• Broad experience in management and leadership, particularly in an OME T&E environment

• Experience in leading a multi-disciplinary team.

• Hold Ammunition Technical Officer/Ammunition Technician Class 1 qualification or equivalent with proven experience in demilitarisation of explosive.

• Be fully conversant with all current and developing EOD techniques.

• Desirable Qualifications: Hold full membership of IExpE

The ideal candidate would be someone who comes from an explosives or demining background who has a management background, so probably SNCO or officer level.
