Electrical Design Engineer - Stockport, Greater Manchester
We're looking for an Electrical Design Engineer to work for a company that designs, manufactures and installs complex automated systems. Established over 10 years ago, the company uses the latest robotics, servo, PLC and vision systems combined with innovative design to deliver the full product life cycle.

Overview
As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will work alongside Mechanical Design and Controls Engineers to design bespoke automation machinery. You will use your skills and experience to comply with all relevant UK and international standards, creating required technical documentation including functional design specifications, bill of materials and electrical drawings. You will also play a key role in departmental and company continuous improvements.
Experience required
- Extensive experience with electrical design software, preferably EPLAN.
- Knowledge of Sistema.
- Extensive experience with hand calculations for drive systems, electrical loadings and current ratings etc.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Willingness to travel (occasionally) within the UK and abroad.
- Excellent time management and ability to prioritise.
- Experience in bespoke/special-purpose machine building and design.
- Experience with robotics and automation.
- Experience with vision and sensing systems.
- Preferably a history of electrical design for industries such as food, automotive, aerospace and pharmaceuticals.
- An understanding and experience of UKCA/CE Technical file creation including carrying out risk assessments.
- Experience with pneumatics, hydraulics and vacuum systems and specification.
- Ability to deal with a broad range of stakeholders including customers, suppliers and internal.
- Always demonstrate respect, integrity, trust, and professionalism in interactions with all colleagues, customers and suppliers
Salary is circa £45-50k depending on experience with a flexible 38-hour week and a 1 p.m. finish on Fridays. The role offers 25 days of holiday plus statutory days.
