A great opportunity has arisen for a Nurse qualified Unit Manager to join an excellent Care Home located in Stoke-On-Trent.
The large sized home specialises in accommodating elderly people that are living with dementia and physical disabilities. They provide a range of different types of care which includes respite, convalescent, physiotherapy and cancer care.

As the Unit Manager, you will be expected to lead a team to ensure the highest quality of care is given. You will also be promoting rehabilitation, independence and enhancing the lives of the service users.
Your main responsibilities will be:
· Developing, reviewing and updating care plans to meet the individual’s physical, social and psychological needs.
· Build the positive reputation of the service and unit; liaise professionally with visitors and other external stakeholders. Ensure team communication is professional and considered.
· Ensure all elements of resident experience are positive, from admission to discharge. For example psychological considerations, safe custody of property, pain management and dignity.
· Oversee all aspects of medicine management – ensuring medicines are appropriately received, stored and administered to our clients.
· Set in place rigorous monitoring and recording practice; documenting efficiently, and thoroughly all matters relating to our residents and employees.
· Proactively monitor all standards of care; undertaking audits and implementing corrective action where appropriate.
· Promote high standards of nursing care for you and your team, actively seeking ways to improve levels of service.
· To assist with all people management duties, including but not exclusively; recruitment, training and career development, performance management and effective delegation of duties.
You must have people management experience and the ability to lead and manage a team effectively. You will also need to be numerate and literate with the ability to communicate effectively. Understanding IT and communication systems that are required for the role.
To be considered for this role you must be a qualified Registered Nurse with a current NMC Pin and experience within a senior position.
