They are hiring immediately for a Depot Power Engineer based out of their Swindon Depot– a role that is critical in making sure their customers get the electricity, heating and cooling they need.

What you’ll do:
You will report to the Service Centre Manager and will carry out inspection and testing of all fleet returned from hire. In addition to this, you will also carry out maintenance and repairs of Company Power and Temperature Control Fleet in depot as well as prepare rental packages for upcoming hires.
Key Responsibilities include:
• A service as per SWI (Including, oil and fuel filter changes)
• B service as per SWI
• New fleet acceptance
• Be able to carry out control equipment replacement and parameter change
• Multi generator synchronising
• Minor and major repair of all fleet
• Pre dispatch inspections
• Preparation of fleet (turnarounds/green carding) on return from hire
• Unloading and loading of vehicles
Electrical
• Basic electrical fault finding < 1500v dc and <1000v ac
• Alternator configuration
• Load testing of fleet
• Low voltage switching, maintenance and isolation
• Carry out main alternator maintenance process
Temperature Control
• TC accessories test procedure
• A service oil fired heaters and boilers as per SWI
• Repair of all MC fleet
QHSE
• Maintain the yard and workshop in a neat and tidy state in accordance with company rules.
• Ensure all yard/workshop equipment in safe/good working order
• LOTO (Lock Out Tag Out) used
• Reports all near misses and any incidents
• Up to date on all QHSE topics
• Complies with PPE and site rules
Who we’re looking for…
You will have a mechanical and or Electrical background preferably with technical capabilities in power and ideally temperature control. A City and Guilds/ONC level 3 qualification or equivalent is also desirable. Alternatively, if not qualified to the above, individual must have good grounding in mechanical engineering and be willing to undertake any training provided to attain these qualifications. You must also hold a full, clean, and valid driving license and be able to work out of hours as and when required and be part of the on- call rota.
You will have good communication and organisational skills and be capable of keeping vehicles to GSCS standards and be committed to maintaining standards in accordance with 5S. Whilst also being able to work under pressure to deliver tasks on time, and to a high level of quality and accuracy, with strong attention to detail.
The ideal candidate would be someone who comes from a Generator or Diesel mechanical background, so for example Gene Mechs from the REME, Royal Signals, RAF or similar who is seeking to join a worldwide and expanding company who have excellent growth plans for the future, both in the UK and Overseas.
