Occupational Therapist
An outstanding job opportunity has arisen for a motivated Occupational Therapist to work in an exceptional hospital service based in the Thatcham, Berkshire. As an Occupational Therapist you will be working for one of UK's leading health care providers.
This is a medium and low secure Forensic mental health hospital set within a tranquil forest environment. There is also a PICU Mental Health Service.
As an Occupational Therapist your day to day duties include:
· Collaboratively planning and implementing individual and group interventions
· Maintaining accurate patient records, written reports and discharge summaries in accordance with hospital and professional standard
· Effectively communicating with patients, all staff and other agencies (written and spoken)
· Actively implement evidence-based practice
· Participating in peer group events through in-service training
· Actively ensuring regular clinical and managerial supervision.
· Review and reflect on own practice and performance through effective professional and clinical supervision and annual appraisal
· Contribute to planning, development and evaluation of the Occupational Therapy service, and the wider service of the area
· Provide professional contribution to, and liaison with, clinical teams, associated disciplines and external agencies
An ideal Occupational Therapist must have these skills as they are beneficial for this position:
· Degree in Occupational Therapy
· Registered with the Health Professional Council
· Evidence of fieldwork and or employment within the Rehabilitation field of Psychiatry
· Member of British Association of Occupational Therapy
· Have the knowledge of the Model of Human Occupation and its clinical application
· An understanding of various other OT models of practice and its clinical application
· Good computer skills i.e. word processing
· An advantage to have experience working with Forensic patients
The successful Occupational Therapist will receive an excellent annual salary from £30,000 - £37,000 per annum. This exciting position is a Full Time role working 37.5 hours a week. In return for your hard work and commitment you will receive the following generous benefits:
