RGN Unit Manager Required

Our client is a leading Healthcare Provider who is currently seeking a Registered General Nurse to take the role as Unit Manager and join a reputable Care Centre located in Wallsend.

You will be working within the purpose-built home where they provide specialised dementia, residential, short term and palliative care for the elderly. They aim to deliver high quality specialist care within first rate facilities with landscaped grounds.

The successful Nurse will receive a competitive salary of £16.00 per hour with fantastic additional benefits.

This role requires someone who is a qualified Registered Nurse with a current NMC registration and people management experience. You will need to have the ability to lead and manage a team and be able to analyse problems and propose solutions. You must also have a good understanding of IT and communication systems required within the role.

As a Unit Manager you will be expected to ensure the delivery of excellent standards of care, promoting rehabilitation, independence and positively enhancing the lives of the service users.

Your main responsibilities will be to:

·         Continually assessing the residents’ needs whilst developing the service to enhance their quality of life

·         Promote independence and personal choice; developing, reviewing and updating care plans to meet the residents’ physical, social and psychological needs

·         Liaise with visitors and other external stakeholders and communicate professionally

·         Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory and best practice guidelines

·         Ensure all medicines are appropriately received, stored and administered to the clients

·         Set in place a rigorous monitoring and recording practice, where you will document efficiently and thoroughly

·         Undertake audits and implement corrective action where appropriate

·         Assist with management duties such as recruitment, training and career development, performance management and effective delegation of duties

To be considered for this role you must be a qualified Registered General Nurse with a currently NMC Pin and experience within a managerial position.
