Tyre Technician (187dm) – Warrington + Standon- £30000-£40000 DOE + Quarterly Bonus
Our client is a company that provides tyres for mining equipment.
They are looking for mobile tyre technicians to go out and maintain and fit tyres to an existing fleet of vehicles
DUE TO THE NATURE OF THIS RECRUITMENT CONSULTANCY, WE ARE ONLY ABLE TO REPRESENT INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE EX MILITARY.
There are 3 Tyre Technicians roles available, 2 roles are based in Warrington and 1 role is in Standon (North of London off M11)
They will train people as long as they can demonstrate some sort of vehicle maintenance background.
Salary starts at £28k but a trained tire tech will get £35k+
The Tyre Technician fits tyres for heavy earthmovers and/or light vehicle equipment.
They are responsible for ensuring that the client's key business principles are adhered to and are actively implemented on site with and for the customer.
Role:
• All safety standards are followed and work is performed without incident to the team, equipment or tyres.
• Correct and safe use of tyre fitting tools and equipment are performed.
• Customers are satisfied with the fitting of their tyres.
• Customers are satisfied with the extra services, such as alignment, repairs, pressure checks, etc
Responsibilities:
Policy and Procedure
• Ensure compliance with client's policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with site/workshop specific policies and procedures.
Contractual
• Ensure that all tyre fitting work is done according to client’s work standards.
• Ensure that the contract scope-of-works is met to client’s high standard.
• Ensure that the minimum and or contract key performance indicators (KPI) are met.
• Perform equipment checks and calibrations.
• Performs wheel alignment.
• Fit and remove wheels from any type of vehicle.
• Mount and strip any type of tyre and assemble rims.
• Balance any type of tyre and rim assembly.
• Perform repairs to tyres and tubes.
• Operate forklifts and tyre handlers.
• Perform Inspections and determine the suitability of wheel components to remain in service.
• Complete any other duties allocated.
Administrative
• Ensure all tyre data collected is as accurate as possible and is applicable in client’s service provision to the client.
• Ensure all documentation on site/workshop is filed and stored promptly and is auditable.
• Assist in maintaining sufficient stock on site of rims, rim components, rim soap, sealant, tyres etc, and regularly audit to maintain correct levels.
• Perform tyre fitter duties when required, or any other duties allocated.
Occupational Health and Safety Compliance
• Conduct regular inspections on all tyre fitting equipment such as jacks, stands, torque multipliers, bead breakers, etc to ensure calibration intervals and to ensure safe working condition.
• Perform all calibration of equipment on site/workshop according to Client Standard Work Procedures.
• Ensure that all work is carried out safely and according to Client Occupational Health and Safety Procedures.
• Comply with site/workshop “lock out” / “tag out” procedures.
• Report hazards, unsafe work conditions and equipment to your Supervisor/lead hand so the appropriate action to eliminate or reduce the risk to acceptable levels.
• Report all incidents and injuries according to procedures.
• Assist and co-operate with the site safety representative to resolve safety issues identified.
• Use and maintain Personal Protective Equipment at all times.
• Perform vehicle Pre-start checks according to procedures.
• Actively participate in regular meetings and inspections in order to promote and improve safety in the workplace and document accordingly.
• Read and confirm incident notices and other safety information conveyed to all personnel.
• All safety standards are followed and work is performed without incident to team, equipment or tyres.
• Correct and safe use of tyre fitting tools and equipment are performed.
Minimum Requirements
• At least 1 year of heavy earthmover tyre fitting/Light vehicle tyre fitting experience as a qualified fitter
• Basic experience repairing and re-grooving tyres preferred.
• Experience with correct and safe handling of light industrial equipment which includes using safe methods of work procedures and achieving safety performance measures.
Education:
• Appropriately qualified in all forms of Wheel Alignment.
• Certificate II in Automotive (Mechanical – tyre fitting and repair Light).
• Certificate II in Automotive (Mechanical - Tyre fitting and repair Heavy).
Special Requirements:
• Light vehicle driver’s license.
• Heavy vehicle driver’s license.
